CASE 04

Operational memory system

Signal Archive

Most teams record decisions.
Very few preserve the reasoning behind them.

Status / Research prototype

01

Problem

Operational knowledge disappears inside messages, meetings, and individual memory. When people leave, change roles, or revisit an old decision, the reasoning is usually gone.

02

Observation

Teams document outcomes more often than context. They remember what changed, but not why it changed, what alternatives were rejected, or what evidence shaped the decision.

03

Approach

  • Capture reasoning.
  • Connect decisions.
  • Build searchable memory.

Signal Archive collects decision context from existing workflows and turns it into a structured operational record without asking teams to maintain another knowledge base manually.

04

How it works

  1. Input

    Messages, notes, meetings, documents

  2. Interpretation

    Reasoning, constraints, alternatives, decisions

  3. Archive

    Connected operational memory

  4. Retrieval

Search by project, decision, person, or consequence

05

Principles

  • Capture context, not noise
  • Preserve uncertainty
  • Keep source material traceable
  • Avoid replacing human judgment
  • Make forgotten reasoning visible
06

Current state

Private prototype.
No public release date.
The concept is being tested through internal operational workflows.
